The World Wide Women project (link: blogs.helsinki.fi/world-wide-women/) studies and supports women musicians with special attention to their transcultural activities and their ways of creating spaces for themselves in music scenes dominated by men. After presenting the project as a whole, the lecture discusses in more detail insights from encounters with Senegalese and Malian musicians.
